Mike Weyerhaeuser

his story
Born in St. Louis, Missouri (USA), Mike has recently settled with his family in Montreux after a 12-year stretch working as an editorial sport photojournalist out of Chamonix Mont-Blanc, France. He earned his degree in Television Production at the University of Colorado, working with ABC television before switching to sport photography. Sochi2014 marked his third Olympic Winter Games coverage as photographer/journalist for the global snowboard industry, and represent 16+ years as a professional photographer. Working closely with professional athletes competing at the top level (as well as their sponsors) Mike has generated sport and travel content for magazines and newspapers around the world.
He's recently put the camera aside to work as TV Operations Manager, video director, scriptwriter and english voice-over for the Freeride World Tour, the global championship of extreme skiing and snowboarding for men and women. This exciting work with the FWT will continue, though is limited to only four months of the year.
As for Loft A46, he says, "I am very excited to join forces with the A46 crew, as this gives me the space and support I need to develop and realize artistic goals for which I had little time while traveling. Plus, the benefit of working with such a diverse pool of like-minded talent sure beats working on my own!!"
